Why choose Telehouse London data centres
Internet hub
Telehouse London data centres are known as the UK's foremost Internet Hub and Backbone for the Global Internet Network. The Docklands data centre campus already facilitates the majority of the London Internet Exchange’s (LINX’s) capacity, which has such a huge proportion of all UK internet traffic flowing through it and this is set to grow. Due to its importance to the Global Internet Network, Telehouse London was featured in the video: "There and Back Again: A Packet's Tale - How does the Internet work?" from the World Science Festival (2013), please see video on the right.
Connectivity
When Telehouse North was opened in 1990, there were only 2 carriers available. Today Telehouse London data centre customers can connect to over 530 carriers, ISPs and ASPs which can be interconnected to any of the buildings via dark fiber. The close proximity to the City and Canary Wharf makes Telehouse the best low latency point, ideal for trading exchanges and mission-critical applications.
Power
Telehouse is the only company in the UK that operates an on-site private dual primary substation (N+N) connected at 132kV to supplier authority lines. The substation is located at its London Docklands campus and encompasses a total capacity of 50MVA with cooling and two 132kV power lines directly connected to the National Grid reducing transmission losses. As power and electrical shortages have been an increasing concern in London, the primary substation future-proofs the Telehouse London data centre campus and secures enough power to serve its fast-growing customer base.
Security/Access
Telehouse London data centres meet the highest levels of building security, including constant security by trained security staff 24/7, electronic access management, proximity access control systems and CCTV. The London Docklands campus is monitored 24/7 by 380 cameras onsite and 14 at our Metro Data Centre. All London customers are offered a 24/7 support function and access to their IT equipment at any time 24/7, 365 days a year.
